Speaking at the press conference, Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed that the championship will elevate Vietnamese sports on the continental stage, demonstrate the country’s international integration, and help prepare athletes for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand and the 20th Asian Games (ASIAD 20) in Japan in 2026. The event also serves as an opportunity to promote Hai Phong’s potential as a destination for sports and tourism and to upgrade the Hai Phong Rowing Center to international standards.

ARF Secretary General Liu Dehai praised Hai Phong’s preparations, infrastructure, and environment. He said the city was chosen to host the event thanks to its clean river and water conditions that meet all criteria for organizing the tournament.
