Hai Phong businesses accompany, offer ideas for city’s development
Throughout its construction and development journey, Hai Phong has always paid special attention to entrepreneurs and express gratitude for businesses’ significant contributions to the port city.

Turning advantages into opportunities
The Hai Phong Logistics Association has more than 100 member enterprises operating in logistics and maritime economy. With the goal of turning Hai Phong into a strategic growth pole of the nation, the association has proposed six major solutions to transform the city’s inherent advantages into opportunities for strong breakthroughs in such sectors as seaports, container shipping, inland waterways, rail transport, road transport, warehousing, shipbuilding, and precision engineering.
Dai An JSC., the investor of Dai An industrial park in Tu Minh ward, has 24 years of experience in constructing and operating industrial park infrastructure. Dai An industrial park has so far attracted 97 domestic and foreign-invested enterprises, with a total registered capital of 4.2 billion USD, creating stable jobs and incomes for 50,000 workers from Hai Phong and other localities. Businesses operating in Dai An industrial park have seen their tax contributions increase year after year.
With a shared goal of building a sustainably developing Hai Phong, Truong Tu Phuong, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Dai An JSC., proposed several measures to improve the city’s investment environment. Specifically, she suggested that Hai Phong accelerate the formulation, submission, approval, and adjustment of its master plan for the 2021–2030 period and develop plans for its southern coastal, specialized western, and northern economic zones.

As Hai Phong enters the 2026–2030 term, it faces both major opportunities and challenges. The city aims to become one of the nation’s top economic centers, a key regional and international trade hub, and a pioneer in industrialization, digital transformation, green transition, and innovation. Therefore, the proposals and recommendations from these two companies in particular, and from the city’s business community in general, play an important role in Hai Phong’s journey toward becoming a modern, livable, and civilized city in Southeast Asia.
Accompanying the aspiration to rise
Hai Phong’s dynamic reality shows that with 45,155 active businesses, the private sector contributes more than 40% of the city’s GRDP, over 50% of domestic budget revenue, and provides jobs for about half of the workforce.
16 private enterprises from Hai Phong are listed among Vietnam’s top 500 private companies. Many businesses are promoting technological innovation, improving productivity, and expanding markets, particularly in key industries.
In the first nine months of 2025, the city’s socio-economic situation achieved many positive results, with most indicators increasing compared to the same period last year. Hai Phong’s economic growth rate remains the second highest in the country, leading among Centrally-governed cities and 1.48 times higher than the national GDP growth rate (7.82%).

Alongside their business growth, the city’s enterprises have also shown solidarity and community responsibility through activities supporting disease prevention, disaster recovery, and social welfare.
Tran Van Thang, Chairman of the Hai Phong Business Association believed that the growth potential of Hai Phong remains vast. With the momentum provided by the Politburo’s Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW and the city Party Committee’s Action Program No. 07 on private sector development, the city’s business community will continue to grow stronger and contribute even more to the homeland and the nation, said Thang.
Speaking at the Hai Phong Business Meeting on October 11 as part of the celebration of the 21st Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13, 2004 – 2025), Chairman of the city People’s Committee Le Ngoc Chau said: “In the time ahead, the business community should continue to accompany the city, proactively propose solutions, pursue breakthrough and innovative directions, and seize opportunities to grow stronger and practically contribute to the city’s and the nation’s development. The city is committed to always accompanying, supporting, and creating the most favorable conditions for enterprises to develop sustainably and successfully.”
