Hai Phong ready for 2025 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival opening ceremony
Preparations for the art show for the 2025 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival opening ceremony have been basically completed, promising a night filled with the sacred spirit and cultural essence of Vietnam.

On the evening of October 10, the organizing committee of the 2025 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival held a full rehearsal for the special art show “Hai Phong – Essence of the heritage land,” which will take place on the night of October 12 at the Kiep Bac temple relic site in Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Phong city. The performance will be part of the commemoration of the 725th death anniversary of National Hero Tran Hung Dao and the official opening of the autumn festival.

After listening to feedback from delegates and members of the city Art Council, Chairman of the city People’s Committee Le Ngoc Chau emphasized that this year’s festival holds special significance. It is taking place shortly after the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site and also marks the first festival season following the merger of Hai Phong and Hai Duong province. “This is not only an occasion to honor our ancestors and evoke national pride but also an opportunity for Hai Phong to widely promote the special historical and cultural values of this sacred land to people across the country and international friends,” said Chau.

He asked the creative team to incorporate all feedback from delegates and Art Council members, fine-tune technical details and performance arrangements to ensure the program is solemn, emotionally resonant, and leaves a lasting impression on the audience and visitors. Relevant departments, sectors, and local authorities are to work closely together to organize a safe, well-prepared festival that reflects Hai Phong’s dynamic spirit, rich traditions, and distinctive cultural identity.

The rehearsal brought together directors, choreographers, and performers from the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre, the Xu Dong Cheo Theatre, the Vietnam Dance Academy, TA Dance, Regiment 50 under the Hai Phong Military Command, along with numerous extras and students from Sao Do University. Sound, lighting, stage setup, and organizational plans have been thoroughly reviewed, ready for a grand and emotionally powerful opening ceremony.

The art program is designed as an epic theatrical performance in four acts, each of which harmoniously blends music, dance, drama, and modern digital projection techniques to recreate significant historical and cultural milestones associated with Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Trai, and King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong.

The highlight of the show will be a spectacular reenactment of the Luc Dau - Bach Dang battle, combining visual effects and 3D mapping on the sacred grounds of Kiep Bac temple. Each performance is meticulously choreographed, rich in the cultural identity of the Northeast region, affirming pride in the World Heritage site of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac.
