Ahead of the Techfest Haiphong 2025, ‘Hai Phong - Startup Café’ has become an incubator for startups to confidently embark on their entrepreneurial journey, promote innovation, and connect ideas with investors.
Gathering place for Techfest Haiphong 2025
In September, the 24th edition of “Hai Phong – Startup Café”, themed “Startups get ready to raise capital at Techfest Haiphong 2025,” took place at the Center for Innovation and Startup Support under the city Department of Science and Technology.
The event attracted experts, investors, and a large number of startups, marking the beginning of a series of activities in preparation for the investment connection session at Techfest Haiphong 2025, where startups will present their ideas, showcase products, and seek cooperation and investment opportunities.
Do Thi Nhung, Director of the Center for Innovation and Startup Support, said that the investment connection session between innovative startups and investors will be held on October 10 within the framework of Techfest Haiphong 2025. The “Hai Phong – Startup Café” program offers startups a platform to discuss how to approach investors and secure funding. This is the core message of Techfest, with the expectation that startups will become the “ambassadors” of Techfest in the near future.
This opportunity also allows Hai Phong to reaffirm its position as the innovation hub of the Northern coastal region, a cradle of ideas and a connector of resources for developing the knowledge-based economy.
At the event, the connection and introduction area for startup projects became a vibrant space where teams presented their ideas, introduced products, and received direct feedback from experienced professionals, experts, and investors. Many models were highly rated for their potential applications in green technology, smart logistics, digital education, and high-tech agriculture.
Turning Hai Phong into a “knowledge port city”
After nearly two years of implementation, more than 300 ideas and projects were introduced, and dozens of startups accessed support funds and investors through the “Hai Phong – Startup Café” program.
More than just a networking platform, the Startup Café has become an essential component of the city’s science, technology, and innovation development strategy.
According to Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee, the city has built and operated the Innovation and Startup Information Portal, organized over 100 intensive training programs, and created more than 2,000 high-quality jobs.
The Startup Café serves as a bridge connecting ideas, management agencies, businesses, and investors, fostering a sustainable startup ecosystem and moving toward building Hai Phong into a city of innovation.
From a weekend gathering space, “Hai Phong – Startup Café” has grown into a strong support platform that nurtures ideas for young entrepreneurs. The program’s exchanges, feedback, and connections have helped shape a new startup culture that is practical, open-minded, and sustainable.
Together with Techfest Haiphong 2025, the program continues to affirm the city’s role in building a regional innovation ecosystem, aiming to have 450 innovative startups and 150 science and technology enterprises by 2030 to transform Hai Phong into a true “knowledge port city” where ideas and aspirations become reality.
