Hai Phong offers financial aid to provinces affected by Typhoon Bualoi

Hai Phong’s support demonstrates profound solidarity with people in provinces suffering damage from Typhoon Bualoi.

On October 2, a delegation from the Hai Phong Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, led by Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee and Chairman of the city Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, visited and provided aid to people in provinces affected by Typhoon Bualoi.

Specifically, Hai Phong provided 5 billion VND to Ha Tinh province and 3 billion VND to each of Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Quang Tri provinces.

With the spirit of solidarity among the North, Central, and South, the Hai Phong Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee decided to deduct the city’s Relief Fund to promptly support people in the affected provinces. This contribution reflects the compassion of the city Party organization, authorities, and people, aiming to help the localities overcome disaster consequences, quickly stabilize life, and restore production.

Lap expressed hope that the local leaders would promptly convey these gifts, along with the city’s warm regards and sympathy, to people suffering losses from the storm and floods.

According to statistics, in Ninh Binh, Typhoon Bualoi left 9 people dead and 49 injured, completely destroyed 21 houses, damaged or unroofed more than 1,200 houses, and affected 12 schools along with many medical facilities and other infrastructure.

In Thanh Hoa, the storm caused 55 deaths, damaged more than 1,400 houses, destroyed over 6,000 ha of rice, 4,000 ha of crops, 3,500 ha of annual plants, 2,000 ha of forestry, 152 tons of food, and 45 tons of salt.

In Nghe An, the storm killed 10 people, injured 16, damaged or unroofed over 5,000 houses, swept away many suspension bridges, and destroyed thousands of hectares of forestry and crops.

In Ha Tinh, the storm killed 1 person and injured 15, damaged more than 95,000 houses, destroyed over 1,500 ha of crops, submerged 346 ha of aquaculture, and damaged or unroofed 427 schools and 554 medical facilities.
