From early morning on the first day of the 2025 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, streams of pilgrims returned to the Luc Dau river valley in the vibrant sound of festival drums.
In preparation for this year’s autumn festival, the relic site management board has set up more than 2,000 sacred and red flags along the roads, hung 50 banners, placed many signboards, and displayed an additional system of archaeological, parking, and relic space introduction panelsOn the roads leading to Kiep Bac temple, colorful flags, flowers, slogans, and signboards created the distinctive appearance of one of the nation’s major festivalsFrom early morning, visitors from many places eagerly gather at the Kiep Bac relic site to participate in the activities on the first day of the 2025 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn FestivalWith fragrant incense sticks and fresh flower bouquets in hand, many people, dressed neatly and solemnly, respectfully enter the templeAt the entrances, long lines of people move forward in the echo of festival drums and the ringing of temple bells across the Luc Dau river valley. The atmosphere, both solemn and vibrant, stir emotions, as if returning to the sacred memory of the land associated with the glorious victories of Saint TranThe festival organizers hold the proclamation ceremony, reporting to Saint Tran and the deities to seek permission to open the festival. Amidst curling incense smoke, groups of people step into the sacred space, marking the beginning of a grand festivalRight after the proclamation ceremony, lively lion dances stir up the festive spaceThe sound of drums and gongs resound continuously as red, yellow, and green lions leap, twist, and dance energetically in the temple courtyardAlso on the morning of October 1, a traditional costume parade, organized by Xu Dong Club, takes place at Kiep Bac with the participation of more than 50 models, actors, teachers… in Nguyen dynasty attire. The event not only enriches the atmosphere of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, but also evokes pride and awareness of preserving cultural identity in the community. It is also an opportunity for the young generation to better understand traditional clothing, thereby nurturing love for their homeland and countryAt this year’s Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, the opening ceremony with fireworks and the sacred Saint Tran seal opening ritual will take place on the evening of October 7.
