232 rowers to compete at 2025 Asian Rowing Championships in Hai Phong

The Organizing Committee of the 2025 Asian Rowing Championships held a working session with Hai Phong departments, the Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation, and the General Department of Sports and Physical Training under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the afternoon of September 26 regarding preparations for facilities, technical conditions, referee training, and more.

The 2025 Asian Rowing Championships will be held from October 11 – 19 at the Hai Phong Rowing Training Center in Bach Dang ward. The opening ceremony will take place on October 16, while the finals and medal granting ceremonies are scheduled for October 18 and 19.
The tournament will gather 232 athletes (135 men and 97 women) along with 96 coaches and officials from 18 countries and territories, including India, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and host Vietnam.

The rowers will compete in 20 men’s and women’s events over the 2,000-m distance.
For the first time, the Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation is co-organizing the Asian Rowing Championships with Hai Phong. Therefore, preparations have been given special attention to ensure the successful organization of the tournament, while promoting Hai Phong’s image as a dynamic, developing, friendly, and hospitable city to international friends.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year’s championship will also welcome the President of World Rowing. This is an opportunity for Hai Phong to introduce its world-class rowing training center with favorable facilities, capable of hosting international-level competitions in the future.
