2025 Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival to be held in solemn, large-scale, professional manner with wide-reaching impact
The highlight of the 2025 Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival will be a series of activities commemorating the 725th death anniversary of Hung Dao Great Lord Tran Quoc Tuan and the 583rd death anniversary of National Hero and World Cultural Figure Nguyen Trai.
Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau chaired a meeting of the committee’s Standing Board on September 12 morning to give opinions on the organization of the 2025 Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival.
This is a traditional festival of Hai Phong, which was recognized as national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in 2012.
According to a proposal of the Party Committee of the city People’s Committee, the 2025 festival will feature many innovations and be upgraded in scale compared to previous years.
This year’s festival is associated with the event in which the Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son, Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex was inscribed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
The main activities will take place on October 7, including: the commemoration of the 725th death anniversary of Hung Dao Great Lord Tran Quoc Tuan; the commemoration of the 583rd death anniversary of National Hero and World Cultural Figure Nguyen Trai; the opening ceremony of the 2025 Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival; the Saint Tran’s seal opening and distribution ceremony; and events celebrating UNESCO’s recognition of the world heritage site.
The festival will be elevated with a grand, impressive art program, real-scene stage performances, and modern audio, lighting, and 3D mapping technologies.
The 2025 festival will also be the first to be held after the merger of Hai Phong city and Hai Duong province, with expanded scale, venues, and spaces. The total estimated budget for the festival is over 37.566 billion VND.
After hearing opinions at the meeting, Secretary of the city Party Committee Le Tien Chau agreed with the proposal to organize the 2025 Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, emphasizing that this is a special cultural-spiritual hallmark, a breakthrough in the upcoming term, and one of the driving forces for sustainable tourism development, spreading the image of Hai Phong as a civilized, friendly, and worth-living port city.
The Secretary assigned the Party Committee of the city People’s Committee to fully incorporate feedback from the meeting to finalize the plan; focus on communication and promotion to make the festival a representative cultural event that spreads heritage values; and strengthen inspection and supervision to ensure the progress and quality of activities while preserving solemnity, civility, and safety throughout the festival.
