Eight grassroots trade unions established in Hai Phong industrial parks and economic zones

The Hai Phong Confederation of Labor has announced decisions to admit members and establish the grassroots trade union of Global Material Handling Co., Ltd. in Nam Dinh Vu II - DeepC 2A industrial park.

The company’s grassroots trade union will be managed and overseen by the Industrial Park Trade Union Committee. Its Executive Board consists of five members. 348 employees of the company were admitted as trade union members.

Global Material Handling Co., Ltd. has 70% Chinese investment and the remaining Japanese investment. It specializes in manufacturing and processing metal products such as steel mesh, shelves, trolleys, transport racks, transport packaging, and steel cages. It has been operating stably since March 2025 with 515 workers.

With guidance and support from the Industrial Park Trade Union Committee, the company’s Mobilization Board organized several communication sessions in late July 2025 to help workers understand their rights and obligations as trade union members as well as the union’s role in the enterprise. As a result, 100% of the employees at that time (348) applied for union membership.

Thus, from the beginning of 2025 until now, eight grassroots trade unions have been established in Hai Phong’s industrial parks and economic zones.

Currently, Nam Dinh Vu II - DeepC 2A industrial park has 10 grassroots trade unions.
