Support worth 100 million VND given to students and people in need in Cat Hai

The Vietnam Seaports Association (VPA) and Hai Phong Port JSC. have jointly presented 100 million VND to disadvantaged students and victims of Agent Orange/dioxin in Cat Hai special zone.

The VPA and Hai Phong Port JSC. have jointly presented gifts to disadvantaged students and people in Cat Hai special zone as part of activities celebrating the 10th Congress of the VPA, said Nguyen Tuong Anh, General Director of Hai Phong Port JSC. and Vice Chairman of the VPA, on September 6.

The package includes monthly support of 500,000 VND for one year (equivalent to 6 million VND per student) for poor students and orphans, along with gift packages worth 2 million VND each for disadvantaged people and victims of Agent Orange/dioxin.

This welfare contribution reflects the social responsibility of seaport businesses while demonstrating the commitment of Hai Phong Port JSC. to the authorities and people of Cat Hai, where the company is developing international container berths No. 3 and 4 at Lach Huyen.

Container berths No. 3 and 4 were inaugurated on May 13, 2025. The project features a total quay length of 750 m, a depth of -16 m, capable of receiving vessels of 165,000 DWTs (14,000 TEUs) and partially loaded vessels of 200,000 DWTs. It also includes a 250-m barge berth for vessels of 3,000 DWTs (160 TEUs), equipped with advanced handling systems. The total investment is nearly 7 trillion VND.
