Hai Phong custard apple output estimated at 22,000 tons

The output of main-season custard apples in Hai Phong in 2025 is estimated at 22,000 tons, slightly down from the same period last year.

According to the Cultivation and Plant Protection Sub-department under the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment, farmers in custard apple-growing areas in the city are currently focusing on harvesting the late-season crop.

Hai Phong has 1,640 ha of custard apple. This year, the city’s total output is expected to reach 22,000 tons, down 0.2% compared to the same period last year, mainly due to unfavorable weather during flowering and fruit-setting stages. However, thanks to synchronized farming techniques, the quality and appearance of Hai Phong custard apples remain high, making them popular among buyers.

In addition to concentrated production areas, some custard apple orchards are cultivated under VietGAP standards, ensuring quality. With an average selling price of 20,000 – 30,000 VND/kg, Hai Phong custard apple growers earn an average profit of 100 – 120 million VND per hectare per year.
