Nearly 44,700 preschool children in Hai Phong introduced to English
Getting acquainted with English from preschool lays the foundation for continuity, helping children learn the language better in primary school while meeting family needs, children’s abilities, and the trend of integration.

In the 2024 – 2025 school year, activities to introduce English to preschool children continued to be implemented at qualified educational institutions in Hai Phong city. As a result, the city had 258 preschools (254 schools and 4 independent private institutions) with 44,651 kindergarten children (accounting for 24%) participating in English familiarization programs.
The Ministry of Education and Training started piloting the introduction of English for preschool children in 2014. After six years, in December 2020, the ministry issued Circular No. 50/2020/TT-BGDDT on the English familiarization program for kindergarten children.
Hai Phong has been steadily consolidating, maintaining, and expanding the scale of English familiarization for preschool children at eligible institutions, contributing to improving the overall quality of education, laying the foundation for better English learning at the primary level, while meeting family expectations, children’s capacity, and the demands of social development in the integration era.
