The Hai Phong Overseas Liaison Association held a ceremony on the morning of August 21 to admit new members.
At the event, 41 relatives of Hai Phong overseas Vietnamese currently living and studying abroad were admitted into seven affiliated chapters of the association, raising the total membership to nearly 900.
By strengthening its organization and expanding membership, the association has maintained active operations, encouraging Hai Phong expatriates worldwide to uphold solidarity, support one another, comply with the laws of host countries, preserve and promote national cultural identity, and remain connected to the homeland.

Responding to the call of the Hai Phong Red Cross, the association launched a fundraising campaign to support the Cuban people on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Vietnam–Cuba diplomatic relations.
More than 23 million VND was raised the event and will be transferred to the Hai Phong Red Cross, and then to the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee for delivery to the Cuban people.
Currently, about 87,000 people from Hai Phong city are working, living, and studying in 105 countries and territories worldwide. In recent years, Hai Phong expatriates have made significant contributions to the development of both Hai Phong and Vietnam.
