On the morning of August 19, the Hai Phong People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for a road construction project linking National Highway 17B with Dinh bridge in Kinh Mon ward.
The 3.09 km long road will start from its intersection with National Highway 17B and end at the approach road to Dinh bridge in Nguyen Dai Nang ward.

It will be built to urban main street standards, with a 15 m-wide road surface, a design speed of 50 km/h, and a complete system of drainage, lighting, intersections, traffic signs, and safety facilities with a budget of 248 billion VND.
The project aims to gradually complete the regional transport system in line with planning, reduce congestion, ensure traffic safety, expand urban development space, and create momentum to promote socio-economic growth for the locality and surrounding areas.

Once completed, the road will help shorten the travel route from National Highways 5 and 17B to the city’s Political-Administrative Center in Thuy Nguyen ward, while reducing pressure on many existing routes.
On the morning of the same day at the same venue, the inauguration ceremony of the Dong Viet bridge approach road project was also held. This project aims to connect Hai Phong with Bac Ninh province, with a route length of 5.3 km in Tran Hung Dao ward and a total investment of 469.820 billion VND.
