Important projects

This National Day, Hai Phong will simultaneously begin construction on six significant projects, contributing to synchronizing transport infrastructure, developing economy and society, and changing the urban appearance.

One of the strategic projects is the T2 passenger terminal at Cat Bi International Airport in Hai An ward. Another project is the construction of a resettlement area for the Lao Cai – Ha Noi – Hai Phong railway project to relocate and stabilize affected residents. Covering more than 7.4 ha in Duong Kinh ward, the resettlement project has a budget of nearly 284 billion VND.

In the city’s western area, four other projects will also begin during this period, three of which involve transport infrastructure.

These include the construction of a bypass for National Highway 37, linking Thong Nhat bridge on National Highway 37 with Ring Road I through Thach Khoi ward and the communes of Gia Loc and Gia Phuc. The 5.4 km route has a total investment of around 612 billion VND and will ease traffic on National Highway 37 while improving connectivity.

Another is the building of a road connecting National Highway 17B with Dinh bridge, stretching more than 3 km through Kinh Mon and Nguyen Dai Nang wards, with a total investment of 248 billion VND. This new route will complete the regional network and stimulate local economic growth. Site clearance for the project is nearly complete and ready for handover to the contractor.

The third transport project is the construction of a bridge over the Thai Binh river and its approach roads, part of Ring Road I. With an investment of over 1.228 trillion VND, the project includes a 663 m bridge and nearly 2.5 km of approach roads, forming a vital link between the city’s key economic areas.

In addition, the construction of a martyrs’ temple and a cultural park in Tan Hung ward will also commence. This 200 billion VND project will cover around 2.5 ha, creating a solemn memorial space and a cultural venue for the community.

According to the Department of Construction, all the projects planned for commencement have essentially met the necessary requirements, including cleared construction sites, permits, technical designs, and construction contracts.

Pham Van Dong, Deputy Director of KTD Sustainable Development JSC., the contractor for the National Highway 17B–Dinh bridge road project, said the company has prepared dozens of machines and over 30 workers, divided into three construction teams, to get ready for the groundbreaking.

The simultaneous launch of these projects is a major political event for Hai Phong on the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, demonstrating the city’s determination to rise, take initiative, and collaborate in socio-economic infrastructure development. It is also a testament to the united efforts of the political system and the solidarity of the city with the rest of the country as it moves into a new era.
