Hai Phong city has seen a significant rise in industrial production value since the merger with Hai Duong province, according to the city Statistics Office.
Specifically, the city’s industrial production value in July grew by 15.24% over July 2024. For the first seven months of 2025, the city’s total industrial production value rose by 14.35% year-on-year, with eastern Hai Phong up 15.14% and western Hai Phong estimated to grow by 13.48%.
Several key industries, such as the production of electrical equipment, electronics, motor vehicles, garments, and footwear, recorded strong growth, serving as the main driving force for the sector’s overall expansion.
Some large-scale, high-growth industries made a strong impact on the sector’s overall performance, including transport vehicle manufacturing, up 46.29%; motor vehicle manufacturing, up 33.87%; fabricated metal product manufacturing, up 29.31%; electronic, computer and optical product manufacturing, up 16.71%; and electrical equipment manufacturing, up 13.17%.
Following the merger, Hai Phong has actively taken measures to help businesses overcome difficulties, expand markets, and boost production and business activities. The city has also accelerated the streamlining and simplification of administrative procedures related to business and production.
