Cat Hai residents enjoy ferry fare discounts

The Hai Phong People’s Committee has adopted Decision No. 20/2026/QD-UBND on fare exemptions and reductions for the Dong Bai – Cai Vieng ferry service, effective April 1, 2026.

Students with permanent residence in Cat Hai, or those studying at local educational institutions, will be exempt from ferry fares.

Vietnamese citizens permanently residing in Cat Hai will be eligible for a 50% discount on ferry services.

The policy applies to passengers travelling on foot, by bicycle, cargo bicycle, and motorbike. Cars with fewer than nine seats are also eligible for fare reductions if they are legally owned by Cat Hai residents and not used for commercial transport services.

Eligible individuals will be issued cards and must present them along with valid identification upon request.

Authorities have assigned the ferry service operator to issue cards based on lists provided by Cat Hai authorities and to publicly display information on fare exemptions and reductions.
