33 Hai Phong fencers ready to welcome rivals at National Fencing Championship

The 2025 National Fencing Championship, hosted by Hai Phong city, will take place over eight consecutive days at the Sports Arena of the city Training and Competition Center, No. 1 Bui Thi Xuan street, Le Thanh Nghia ward.
As Vietnam’s highest-level annual fencing tournament, this year’s National Fencing Championship gathers eight teams with more than 180 fencers competing for top honorsFor the first time, fencers from West Hai Phong and East Hai Phong will compete together as one team, following the merger of Hai Duong province and Hai Phong cityHai Phong’s 33-strong squad is coached by Nguyen The Hoang, Tran Thi Len, Dang Anh Dung, and Le Thi BichThe roster includes many athletes with strong technical skills or high development potential, such as Pham Thi Ngoc Luyen, Nguyen Thi Huong, Nguyen Duc Tai, Do Thi Tam, Ngo Thi Huong, Ngo Quoc Thang, and Hoang Van Viet DungThe team will compete in multiple events, including foil, sabre, épée, and mixed categoriesDespite training in the non-air-conditioned arena under hot weather conditions, Hai Phong’s fencers have shown strong determination to fulfill their role as hosts and welcome their rivalsThe opening ceremony of the 2025 National Fencing Championship will be held at 5:30 pm on August 9, followed by award presentations for completed events
